Motivation is Unreliable
The ideal situation for anyone is to be both motivated & consistent.
The problem, however, is that motivation by itself is unreliable. In fact, you are only likely to be motivated a small percentage of the time. When the well runs dry, you will fight against that little voice in your head before getting anything done.
That little voice in your head is very compelling.
And so, you need to have a contingency.
This is when consistency comes in handy.
If you’ve built a habit that allows you to remain consistent whether motivation came to visit or if motivation is long gone, you’ll get your tasks done. You won’t have anyone to fight with, and it will be almost automatic.
So let’s all strive to build small practical habits that allow us to remain consistent day in and day out.
Until next time, friend!
Cheers.
